The 2019 Swan Days Festival featured arts, crafts, education, conservation, wildlife, and food vendors. There will be no Swan Days Festival in 2021.

All food and beverage vendors must comply with the fees and application deadline set by the Hyde County Health Department to serve food or beverages at the festival. CATHY CLAYTON of the Ponzer Community in Hyde County has been developing her art skills using wood burning for about 18 years. Her beautiful creations are intricate and unique. ROBBIN BRILEY of Beaufort County, NC is a local educator and artist/owner of DEVINELY ARTISTIC CREATIONS. She will be a vendor with us again this year offering acrylic and watercolor original artwork, handcrafted greeting cards, bookmarks, handcrafted jewelry and much more. As an educator for the last 22 years she pulls inspiration for her designs from her love of nature, science education, and geology background. SWAN DAYS T-SHIRTS will be available at the festival. the picture of Swans over Mattamuskeet Lodge on the back of each T-shirt is a reprint of a Duane Raver original, created to promote the festival. Raver is a renowned wildlife artist who for many years created the covers for North Carolina Wildlife Magazine. T-shirt sales helps support the marketing cost of the festival and each time you wear your shirt, you help us spread the work about this fun event. Come prepared to buy T-shirts for yourself and everyone in your group. They will also make great Christmas gifts!

BILL'S HOT DOGS

BILL'S HOT DOGS of Washington is returning to the 2019 Swan Days Festival. Bill’s Hot Dogs is a legend. Bill Jackson opened Bill’s in 1928. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks are all they have ever served and they are still serving the original chili recipe. Last year it was rainy and cold at the festival, and they saved the day with their delicious hot chocolate. Make your plans to come to the festival and eat a legendary hot dog as only Bill's can make it.

DUANE RAVER NUMBERED PRINTS: SWANS OVER MATTAMUSKEET

THE SWAN DAYS PLANNING COMMITTEE will be selling numbered prints of Duane Raver's painting, “Swans over Mattamuskeet.” Raver is one of the premier wildlife artists of North Carolina. He has been drawing and painting wildlife for about seventy years. The prints are $25. Plan now to buy your for yourself and for Christmas gifts.

OUR CREATIONS, GLAUSSIA HUBERS, PINETOWN, NC

OUR CREATIONS and Glaussia Hubers of Pinetown will be a returning vendor at the 2019 Swan Days Festival. Their products are 100% handmade by local artisans from Masaya, Nicaragua, in Central America. Their Sunshine purses are made with top grain leather and canvas, and part of the profit goes to the foundation for premature babies in Nicaragua. They also offer sandals, solid wood trivets, and hammocks. They have their own coffee, “Mombachito,” from another of their projects called "Farmer to Farmer." The photos below only represent a few of the products they will display at the festival. Come prepared to purchase their products and benefit the artisans of Nicaragua.

Kelly Daye, owner of Beauty and Bliss, will be a vendor at the 2019 Swan Days Festival offering natural products to help eliminate toxins from your life. She will offer pre-made and customized products according to individual needs. She has used essential oils for 5 years to replace toxic substances in households. Her products include organic soy candles and natural alternatives for health, beauty and household products.

Alison Ellis of Green Heron Glass Studio

Allison has been designing and building custom stained glass windows since 1989. Before that, she worked as a specialist in the restoration of church windows for Darling Stained Glass Studio in central Pennsylvania.

Her work can be found in homes, churches and commercial buildings throughout the US and in several European countries, including England, Germany, Denmark and Norway. She has more than 20 years of experience in traditional lead-came windows and in the copper-foil technique. Many of her pieces include hand-painted, kiln-fired detail. SeaHaven by RhondaLeigh

Rhonda Wheeler does business as “SeaHaven by RhondaLeigh.” She started making beach glass jewelry under Kathryn Boutchyard of Seaglass jewelry from the Outer Banks who taught her the art of wrapping beach glass. Now, she uses the treasures she find on the beach to make jewelry and art pieces. She combines some of her wrapped treasures with stamped inspirational messages.

AUDRA CAHOON, REPRESENTING “SCENTSY”

Audra Cahoon grew up in Engelhard in Hyde County, NC, east of Lake Mattamuskeet. Her slogan is "Scentsy to make your whole life smell good." The products that he will be selling at her Swan Days Festival booth are for body, laundry, on the go, kids, Disney, Warmers and waxs, diffuser and oils, fan and wall diffusers with pods, fragrance flowers, cleaning and finally pets. Audra is currently attending online college at Western Governor's University.

SANDY CARAWAN PHOTOGRAPHY

Sandy Carawan, grounded in 35mm photography since 1983 using her father's Voigtlander camera from World War II, focuses her creative attention on all aspects of Hyde County and its beauty. Her photography is regularly featured in North Carolina Literary Review and Eastern Living Magazine of which she is also a contributing writer. She teaches DSLR photography classes through Beaufort County Community College. Photography drives her soul and she is passionate about photographing Hyde County and its people, places, and nature.
